The goal of the K8 Library is simple: index most of the public Kanjani8 fic in one place so that readers can easily access their favorite fics, find out about new fics, or simply find something to read when the mood strikes.

∞ Which fics are included in The Library?

Any predominantly Kanjani8 related fanfics that were advertised in a public space (such as JENT, Ao3, or kanjani8) or were posted in public events such as exchanges.


∞ Are there any actual fics at The Library?

No. We only host links. No actual fics can be found here.


∞ How do I use The Library?

∞ You have a fic listed under Hina/Ryo, but it's really Yasu/Okura with a hint of Ryo/Hina, etc - aka, why is this fic under the wrong category?

Your Librarians haven't read all 1,000+ fics here - we haven't even come close. As such, we can only go off of what the author puts in his/her header. Sometimes, that can be really misleading - but we tried our best to categorize in a helpful way! We do apologize for anything that got sorted incorrectly.


∞ Why isn't [insert title] fic here?

For one of the following reasons:
- We don't know it exists. (This is most likely the case - tags only go back 400 entries after all.)
- It didn't qualify (really short drabbles, fics where Eito are just minor characters).
- It was locked in a private LJ/deleted.
- The Ryo Clause. (See below)


∞ How do you solve a problem like Ryo?

Let us be blunt. Ryo gets around, fictually. A lot. As he's so popular, compiling every story he's been in is near impossible. And, honestly, not every fic he's been in should be part of a Kanjani8 collection. As such:

1) NEWS fics are not collected here. While we like NEWS very much, this is not the NEWS Library (though we'd link to that if someone made it!) "NEWS fics" are those with predominantly NEWS members - aka, a Ryo/Massu fic is classified as "NEWS" not Ryo/Other. (Ryo/Pi is still considered NEWS despite neither being in NEWS at this point.)

2) The Ryo and Uchi section is by no means complete. There are a lot of Ryo/Uchi fics, spanning both Eito and NEWS. For our sanity's sake, we restricted Ryo/Uchi fics to those that explicitly mentioned Kanjani8 somehow, had another Eito member in it, or was advertised in a Kanjani8 community.

3) No RyoDa fics. We're not discriminating against Ueda - we like Ueda very much. But RyoDa is one of the few pairings that is so popular that it warrants its own pairing tag at JENT, its own community and its own mini-exchange. There are simply too many fics to collect for a Kanjani8 based list.

4) No Akanishi Troops fics. Again, we apologize. These fics are excluded for the same reason as RyoDa - there is simply too many and they're not really Kanjani8 fics.

In short, Ryo is apparently the JE town bicyclea member of the lollipop guildfull of love and pain and magic...and a lot of gas a challenge. Please understand that we've tried our best with the little monster and that we have a reason for limiting which of his fics are included.


∞ When will The Library be updated?

Once a season (about 3-4 times a year)! We'll collect any new public fics we've seen or been told about and add them.


∞ And a friendly reminder...

While there are no real rules here in the Library (since posting is via mod only), it's always nice to remember that behind every link to a fictional story there lies a human being. Please do not use the Library as a means to troll, harass or otherwise demean your fellow Eighters. Feel absolutely free to use the Library as a means to lavish praise, love and cookies on authors you find through our index though!
